Joey Logano was livid with Team Penske teammate Austin Cindric over how Stage 2 of Sunday’s Jack’s Links 500 at Talladega ended.
Logano finished second in Stage 2 to Bubba Wallace, but clearly felt he could have passed Wallace with a bit more help from Cindric. Cindric had been trying to push Logano, his fellow Ford driver, late in the stage, but had to check up.
That did not sit well with Logano, who let loose against Cindric on his radio.

“Way to go, Austin. Way to go, you dumb f—,” Logano said. “Way to f—ing go. What a stupid s–t. You just gave it to him. Gave a Toyota a stage win. Nice job. Way to go. What the f—?”

For his part, Cindric said on his own car radio that he had to check up to avoid wrecking Logano. Clearly, Logano was either unaware of the situation or saw things differently.
Cindric has rubbed some people the wrong way earlier this season. He probably did not expect to be called out by one of his own teammates over a move that he made to try to avoid causing a wreck, but that is what he ultimately got.
Logano still received nine stage points for his finish, though Toyota did lead the manufacturer standings coming into Sunday with Ford a distant third. Evidently, that is something Logano would really like to change.
