Kyle Busch threw a not-so-subtle jab at Ross Chastain after Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series race at Sonoma Raceway in Sonoma, Calif.

Busch’s No. 8 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet got tangled up with Chastain’s No. 1 Trackhouse Racing Chevrolet in the final lap of the Toyota Save Mart 350.

Chastain and Busch were jockeying for fifth place when contact between the two drivers spun the latter in Turn 4A. Chastain ended up 5th, while Busch had to recover to finish 12th in the race.

During post-race interviews, Busch was heard throwing shade at Chastain within earshot of the Trackhouse Racing driver.

“Somebody else that doesn’t know anything about clean over here,” said Busch with Chastain standing just a few feet away.

Chastain, on the other hand, didn’t see the contact as completely his fault. He stated that he was “confused” by the incident and that he did all he could to avoid hitting Busch.

Busch’s wife Samantha was far less subtle in calling Chastain out. She mocked Chastain’s reaction to the incident and said Chastain “over drove the corner” to spin her husband’s car.

Kyle Busch’s 12th-place finish was his fourth consecutive Cup Series race finish outside the top ten. Hendrick Motorsports’ Kyle Larson finished first at Sonoma Raceway to secure his third Cup Series win of the season.
