Tony Hawk’s funny story about his encounter at a coffee house on Friday went viral.
Hawk was in the Boone, N.C. area for the graduation of a friend’s daughter from Appalachian State University. He went to a coffee shop on Friday in Lincolnton, N.C. called Grounded Coffeehouse.
The woman who was working told the skateboarding legend that he resembled Tony Hawk. As Hawk was exiting, a girl by the door agreed that he did look like Tony Hawk.
At coffee shop this morning: Girl behind counter: (not joking) “has anyone told you that you look like Tony Hawk?” Me: yes, so much that I sometimes write about it. Her: haha, here’s your coffee Other girl by exit: (leans toward me as I walk out): “you really do look like him”
You can’t really blame them. Even if they did think it was Hawk, who would ever think he would be going to a local coffee house in little old Lincolnton, N.C.?
Bodybuilder Shawn Rhoden, who won the Mr. Olympia competition in 2018, has died of a heart attack at the age of 46.
Generation Iron reported on Saturday about Rhoden’s death. They say he died of a heart attack and shared that Rhoden’s trainer was confirming to friends that Rhoden had died.
Known as “Flexatron,” Rhoden began bodybuilding in 1992. He unseated Phil Heath as the Mr. Olympia champion in 2018, ending a streak of seven straight wins by Heath.
At 43, Rhoden was the oldest Mr. Olympia champion. The Jamaican-born bodybuilder had numerous first-place finishes in competition, with his Mr. Olympia title standing out as his crowning achievement.
He was the subject of a documentary.
Rhoden overcame alcohol addiction during his life. He was accused of rape in 2018, shortly after his Mr. Olympia win.
Rhoden received tributes upon the news of his death.

There is a viral trend going around social media in which people attempt the “Milk Crate Challenge.” The challenge involves trying to successfully climb over a pyramid of crates without falling. More people fail at it than not, risking serious injury. But the Indianapolis Colts’ mascot has it locked down.

Lamar Odom had to cancel a recently-scheduled guest appearance due to health reasons.
Odom was set to appear on “Addiction Talk” with Joy Sutton last week on Facebook Live. However, he canceled due to health reasons, saying that he was dealing with dehydration and exhaustion.
“Just moments ago we received information from his team, the agency that works with him, that let us know that he wont be able to join us tonight due to some health concerns,” Sutton said, via Page Six. “We’ve been told that he’s dealing with dehydration and exhaustion, and I can tell you that he did want to be here tonight.”
Odom’s dehydration and exhaustion issues stemmed from working out and basketball camps, according to his representatives.
There is a happy ending to the case of Aly Raisman’s dog.
Raisman has been posting over the last half-year or so about her new puppy, Mylo. Raisman shared on July 3 that Mylo unfortunately ran off after being scared by some fireworks and was missing.
She spent the next week posting daily about Mylo’s absence, asking for assistance in finding him. She offered a reward for the dog and created a phone line for tips. But all eventually turned out well.
Raisman shared on July 9 that Mylo had been located and reunited with her.
The 27-year-old gymnast won three Olympic gold medals and was part of the United States’ squad that won team gold medals at the Summer Games in 2012 and 2016.
Joey Chestnut defied the odds on Sunday by breaking his own world record at the Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating contest, and very few gamblers had faith in him leading up to the event.
Chestnut ate a total of 76 hot dogs and buns in 10 minutes, breaking the record of 75 he set a year ago. Most Sportsbooks set the over/under at somewhere between 73.5 and 75.5 According to Darren Rovell, almost none of the money at DraftKings Sportsbook was on Chestnut tying or breaking his previous record. Just 1 percent of the total handle was wagered on the over.

Apparently, the vast majority of people believed Chestnut peaked in 2020. They were wrong.
Chestnut’s performance was nothing shy of incredible, but unfortunately TV viewers missed a lot of it. ESPN had some serious technical difficulties during the 10-minute event. You can probably guess how Twitter reacted to that.

Cricket fans can be extremely enthusiastic about their teams, but one particularly cheeky fan showed us during a match this weekend that he is passionate about something else as well.
A fan at a recent Middlesex cricket match was caught by TV cameras getting extremely, let’s call it cozy, with the woman he was sitting with. The woman leaned over to say something to the people sitting in the row behind her and got a nice “hi, how ya doin?” from the gentleman sitting next to her.
A handler tripped and fell, nearly wiping out its dog during a competition at the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show on Saturday at Lyndhurst in Tarrytown, N.Y.
Trainer Dan Haddy was handling a Boston Terrier named Ripple during the agility competition. After Ripple exited the tunnel, Haddy tripped and fell, nearly landing on the dog.
Even though Haddy took a spill, he was able to get back up and recollect. Ripple, who was tearing up the course prior to the mishap, was able to complete the event.
In the end, Verb the Border Collie won both the 20″ Class and had the best overall time at 31.30 seconds. Verb won the 2021 Masters Agility Champion trophy for the second time in three years.
