College baseball player hits home run immediately after being taunted
Tennessee slugger Blake Burke got the last laugh after being heckled by a young fan during Saturday night’s game against Mississippi State.
Burke came to the plate in the top of the eighth inning with the score tied 5-5 in the Volunteers’ SEC Tournament game at Hoover Metropolitan Stadium in Hoover, Ala. After Burke swung and missed at a 1-0 pitch, a fan (who sounded like a child) could be heard yelling, “You suck, 25!”
Burke took a walk around the plate and then stared toward the stands for a few seconds. He then stepped back into the box and blasted a solo home run on the very next pitch.

The home run proved to be the difference in the game, as the Vols won 6-5 to advance to the SEC Tournament semifinals. They will face Vanderbilt on Sunday.
Burke now has 17 homers on the season. Taunting a player of his caliber is always a risky proposition, and it looks like one young fan learned that the hard way.
