Texas A&M’s college baseball team found a way to channel the Masters during Thursday’s game against South Carolina.
Texas A&M trailed 3-2 in the bottom of the 3rd inning at Blue Bell Park in College Station, Texas. With Gamecocks starting pitcher Jake McCoy on the mound, Aggies first baseman Blake Binderup came up to the plate with the bases loaded and one out.
Binderup smashed a 1-0 pitch deep to left-center field for a grand slam to put his team up 6-3.

Binderup and his teammates celebrated the go-ahead blast with a fun nod to the ongoing Masters golf tournament. The 21-year-old donned a green jacket as he returned to the dugout and momentarily swapped his bat for a putter. Binderup then showed off his short game by hitting a putt into a teammate’s helmet as his teammates cheered around him.

The video does not show whether or not Binderup actually sank his “putt.” But given the reactions his teammates had, he deserves the benefit of the doubt.
South Carolina mounted a comeback to tie the game at 7 in the 8th inning. Texas A&M was able to seal the deal in the bottom of the 10th via a walk-off home run by designated hitter Caden Sorrell.

Binderup passed the green jacket off to Sorrell, who wore it with confidence during his postgame interview.
The baseball-golf crossovers have been plentiful this week as legendary slugger Ken Griffey Jr. played an unexpected role at this year’s Masters.
