Ed Cooley splitting his pants starts new fashion trend at Providence
Providence basketball coach Ed Cooley infamously split his pants during the Big East Tournament final earlier this month, and he likely never imagined the wardrobe malfunction would lead to a full-blown fashion trend.
After he ripped his pants, Cooley improvised by wrapping some Gatorade towels around his waste to cover up the problem. He joked about the incident days later by wearing a towel while walking around his office.

The look has since become a viral sensation on the Providence College campus. Prior to their opening round NCAA Tournament game against Texas A&M on Friday, the school’s Twitter account highlighted how students and faculty have been proudly rocking the Cooley look.

Who said March Madness was all about major upsets and buzzer-beaters? One top NCAA coach has spoken very highly of the Friars, and we hope he’s right about their talent level. The Cooley towel look should take on a life of its own if his team makes a deep run.
