Watch: LSU fans chant in support of suspended Will Wade, call for AD’s firing
LSU fans are showing where they stand amid the scandal the school is facing.
LSU announced on Friday that basketball coach Will Wade would be suspended indefinitely after he was caught on a wiretap discussing an “offer” made to a recruit. The recruit is freshman Javonte Smart, who is being held out as a precautionary move.
These measures of discipline are coming at a terrible time for LSU, which is 25-5 on the season and a potential Final Four team. The fans don’t like seeing the suspensions get in the way of the season and let their feelings known on Saturday for the team’s game against Vanderbilt.
Fans chanted “Free Will Wade” and held up signs supporting Wade and against athletic director Joe Alleva.

The fans may not like the discipline, but Alleva is making the right move by holding Wade and Smart out.
