Michigan State loses Nick Ward to hairline fracture in hand
The Michigan State Spartans got bad news on one of their key players on Sunday.
Junior center Nick Ward, who was hurt late in the first half of a win over Ohio State, sustained a hairline fracture in his left hand and will be out indefinitely, according to the school.

The Spartans say they hope Ward will be able to return before the end of the season, but he will be evaluated on a week-to-week basis for now.
The news comes as a huge blow to Michigan State’s Big Ten title hopes. Ward is averaging 15.4 points and 6.7 rebounds per game this season and when he plays well, the Spartans tend to win. It’s a loss they can not really afford, with another key player already out for the remainder of the season.
