Anonymous DC declares the ‘beginning of the end’ of Alabama dynasty
Was Monday night’s beatdown by Clemson against Alabama in the National Championship Game the beginning of the end of the Crimson Tide’s dynasty under Nick Saban? Some might be thinking it, and one college football coach is saying it … anonymously.
The Athletic’s Nicole Auerbach shared that she received a text message from a defensive coordinator on a Power 5 college football team during the title game who said this was the “beginning of the end of the dynasty.”

You’re going to hear a lot more of that talk.
Saban is 67, while Dabo Swinney is only 49. Clemson has matched Bama’s success and dominance over the past four years, with them splitting the last four national championships. The Tigers have some young studs on offense, led by Trevor Lawrence. Things seem to be setting up in their favor.
But let’s not forget who we’re talking about here. This is Saban and Alabama. Saban’s a tireless worker who never stops recruiting. He’s going to have another top class coming in. And he’ll be even hungrier and more motivated next season after losing this game.
This is a memorable and shifting loss for Alabama, but let’s not act like the Tide won’t be right back in next year’s championship game.
