James Franklin slighted rival Pitt after Penn State handled the Panthers 33-14 on Saturday.
Last year, the Nittany Lions dropped only two games in the regular season before falling to USC in the Rose Bowl. Their first loss of the season came to Pitt 42-39.
Winning on Saturday was a measure of revenge for Penn State, and Franklin took the opportunity to downplay his opponent.

Franklin: "For their win last year it was like winning the Super Bowl. For us this year, it was like beating Akron."

That certainly seems to be his way of saying Penn State views Pitt as a little brother more than a worthy rival. His words are also reflective of the current state of Penn State’s program, which is that they have much bigger fish to fry than Pitt. They’re after a playoff berth. Kudos to Franklin for getting Penn State to that point.
