Jim McElwain, Cam Cameron interview for job with Michigan

Jim McElwain

A couple of former SEC coaches have interviewed for an open assistant coaching position at Michigan.

According to 247 Sports, former LSU offensive coordinator and Baltimore Ravens offensive coordinator Cam Cameron was at Michigan to interview for a vacancy on their coaching staff. Cameron was fired by LSU four games into the 2016 season.

Last week, Jim McElwain, who was most recently the head coach at Florida, visited Ann Arbor to interview for an assistant position as well. According to The Wolverine Lounge, McElwain was offered the opportunity to call offensive plays.

The Wolverines have a vacancy after Dan Enos left to take a job with Alabama just weeks after agreeing to coach at Michigan.

After going 10-3 in each of Jim Harbaugh’s first two seasons as head coach, the Wolverines fell to 8-5 last season and had particular difficulty scoring points. The Wolverines have their sights set on a bounce back campaign in 2018. Adding either coach would seemingly provide a boost to the staff.
