Lincoln Riley became emotional while talking with ESPN’s Holly Rowe after leading Oklahoma to a 39-27 victory over Texas in the Big 12 Championship Game on Saturday.
Riley paused for a moment and appeared to almost be in tears as he talked after the game. He said it’s “been a hard season.” Riley also reflected on the incredible accomplishment by Oklahoma of winning the conference a fourth year in a row:

The Sooners have been on an impressive run. They finished 11-2 two seasons in Bob Stoops’ final two seasons, winning the conference in 2015 and 2016. Now Riley has led the Sooners to conference titles in his two years as head coach, and potentially two CFP appearances as well. Getting revenge on Texas, who handed them their only loss in the season, also had to have felt great.
