LSU LB Devin White to miss half of Alabama game after targeting call
LSU will be without one of its top defensive players for the first half of their game against Alabama due to a punishment.
Devin White was called for targeting after a hit on Mississippi State quarterback Nick Fitzgerald during the fourth quarter of Saturday’s 19-3 win.

White made forcible contact on a defenseless player using his forearm, which is why the targeting call was upheld.
Not only was White ejected from the rest of the game, but because the infraction occurred in the second half, by rule, White will also have to sit out the first half of the Tigers’ next game. That will be on Nov. 3 against Alabama — the Tigers’ toughest game of the season.
It’s an extremely costly penalty for LSU. White entered the game with 66 tackles — seven for a loss — and has boosted his NFL Draft stock with his play.
