Michigan LB Cameron McGrone thought late Alabama touchdown was ‘smack in the face’
It’s fair to say Michigan wasn’t exceptionally pleased with the Alabama Crimson Tide for running up the score late in the Citrus Bowl.
The Crimson Tide won 35-16, with their final touchdown coming on a play where Alabama could have kneeled the game out instead. At least one Michigan player, sophomore linebacker Cameron McGrone, took note, and was not pleased.

One can definitely understand why Michigan players would feel this way, because the game was essentially over. Whatever the reasons behind this were, it was clear that both sides wanted to get some last digs in toward the end of the game. Michigan tried to use the 24 seconds they had to score again, but they failed.
Of course, less sympathetic people would simply suggest that the Michigan defense do its job and make a stop. That unit couldn’t do so, and paid the price by giving up six.
