The North Carolina Tar Heels football team is a gift that keeps on giving … to the memes.
North Carolina has gone 2-3 this season in Bill Belichick’s debut as the program’s head coach. There have been non-stop stories taking aim at the level of professionalism surrounding the program. The latest story doesn’t help their image.
On Thursday, reporter Pablo Torre said that North Carolina football general manager Michael Lombardi took a trip to Saudi Arabia two weeks before the start of the season. The trip was made for fundraising reasons, according to Torre.

Multiple sources tell me that UNC general manager Mike Lombardi left the team in August, two weeks before the season-opener, to fundraise in Saudi Arabia.
A lot more in the episode beyond that. More to come.
Well, the reactions were picturesque as you could imagine.

Yep, that’s them. The UNC Tar Heels NIL roster sponsored by the Saudi Arabian government. Would they have received team naming rights in exchange for their sponsorship dollars? How would the deal have worked out? Would Bill Belichick’s girlfriend Jordon Hudson have approved of the deal? We need answers.
