Ohio State fans planning rally in support of embattled Urban Meyer
There are definitely some Ohio State fans who are standing behind embattled football coach Urban Meyer.
One group of fans is holding an on-campus rally to support Meyer, who is being scrutinized after keeping an assistant coach on staff despite multiple allegations of abuse.
“A peaceful rally at Ohio State University for Coach Urban Meyer just because I thought, I was thinking there’s been so much negative press with Coach Meyer,” Buckeye fan Jeff Hamms wrote on his Facebook page, via Jackie Orozco of ABC 6.
Hamms said he has received university approval to hold a rally on campus, and that all Buckeye fans are invited. An announcement on date and time is forthcoming.
Given the discrepancies quickly developing in his stories, Meyer didn’t tell the truth somewhere along the line here. Many Buckeye fans are always going to support him, as he’s been an enormously successful football coach, but the more that comes out about this, the worse he looks.
