Quinn Ewers responded on Monday to a wild rumor about him.

247 Sports, which is a site that specializes in recruiting news, posted something on their Instagram account Monday about Ewers that they quickly deleted. The post included a photo of Ewers and a “Breaking News” headline.

“Texas QB Quinn Ewers will sit out the rest of the season to prepare for the NFL Draft,” the post’s text said.

247Sports posted this to their Instagram and deleted shortly afterwards…

Ewers saw the report and responded via his Instagram Story.

The Texas Longhorns quarterback posted a meme of Donald Trump that said “fake news.”

That was Ewers’ way of calling B.S. on the report.

The report seemed very far-fetched, and it’s notable that 247 Sports deleted it after a few minutes, which suggests they may have made a mistake by publishing something that should have remained as a draft.

Ewers’ representative confirmed that the quarterback practiced on Monday and is getting ready to face Vanderbilt on Saturday.

A report about Quinn Ewers leaving Texas for the NFL Draft is not true, per Ewers’ representative Ron Slavin. Ewers practiced today and is focused on Vanderbilt.

Ewers missed time this season due to an oblique injury, which opened the door for Arch Manning to start in his place. But Ewers returned to face rival Oklahoma and then started against Georgia, though he was benched for two series due to poor play. Ewers returned to the game after Manning struggled as well, and continued to play the rest of the contest.

Ewers, who is in his redshirt junior season, has passed for 1,101 yards, 11 touchdowns and 4 interceptions this season. The Longhorns are 6-1.
