The Cincinnati job is a fairly strong one, particularly in the context of other Group of Five schools. The program has a track record of recent success, and have also looked to join a Power Five conference, indicating their ambition.
Cincinnati’s fading success under Tuberville is notable, though. After opening his tenure there with a pair of nine-win seasons, they dropped to 7-6 in 2015 and won just one conference game in 2016, punctuated by moments like this. It’s no huge shock that he’s out, all things considered.
