Urban Meyer knows exactly what J.T. Barrett’s legacy at Ohio State will be.

Barrett closed his Buckeyes career on a high note after helping Ohio State to a 24-7 win over USC in the Cotton Bowl on Friday night. After the game, Meyer called Barrett a legend.

“I love him. He’s a member of the Meyer family as I said many, many times. But more importantly, he’s a legend at Ohio State. He’ll go down as one of the winningest quarterback ever to play here. He’ll go on his endeavors and do whatever he’s going to do. He has a home at Ohio State for the rest of his life,” Meyer said of Barrett in an interview with ESPN after the game.

Barrett only threw for 114 yards in the game, but he rushed for 66 yards and two touchdowns, and that was all the Buckeyes needed. Barrett ends his career as the Big Ten leader in career yards. He passed for 104 touchdowns, rushed for 43 scores, and more importantly, went 4-0 against Michigan. Ohio State also won a national championship during his freshman season. That’s a pretty nice legacy.
