Report: Zach Mettenberger has torn ACL; draft rating unchanged
Zach Mettenberger has a torn ACL and won’t play in LSU’s bowl game, according to a report.
Mettenberger was injured in the fourth quarter of the Tigers’ win over Arkansas last week. He was hit in the knee by Arkansas defensive tackle Bryan Jones. Though he was wearing a brace on his knee, his ligament still tore, ESPN reports.

Mettenberger is a senior and was thought to be a first-round pick for the NFL draft. Reporter Aaron Wilson says the torn ACL will not affect Mettenberger’s draft evaluation.
Sources say Zach Mettenberger still carries first-round draft grades from at least two NFL scouting directors despite torn ACL.

Mettenberger originally attended Georgia, but he was kicked off the team. After spending a year at community college, he went to LSU and has started for them the past two seasons. Freshman Anthony Jennings, who took over for Mettenberger in the fourth quarter against Arkansas, will likely quarterback the team in the bowl game.
