Ronda Rousey in talks to join cast of ‘Fast & Furious 7’

Ronda-RouseyEarlier this year, Ronda Rousey said that she would not consider a career in acting until her fighting days are over. A number of recent rumors have indicated that she may have changed her mind, the most recent of which links her to the latest installment of the “Fast & Furious” movies.

Variety reported on Wednesday that Rousey has begun negotiations to join the cast of “Fast & Furious 7.” The movie is scheduled to begin filming this fall and will bring back its star-studded cast of Vin Diesel, Paul Walker and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson in addition to Jason Statham. Former female MMA fighter Gina Carano appeared in “Fast & Furious 6.”

Last month, Sylvester Stallone announced that Rousey would be joining the cast of “The Expendables 3.” According to Variety, the theory is that she could film both roles this fall and finish in time to begin training for her Dec. 28 rematch against Miesha Tate.

Rousey is considered the best female fighter in MMA at the moment, and she is obviously a major draw for movie producers as well. There have also been rumors linking her to the next “Hunger Games” movie, so the offers are flowing in at a fairly rapid pace. It must be nice for her to know she has a potential career beyond fighting, but hopefully acting won’t take away from her focus in the octagon. As Dana White previously noted, Rousey will have plenty of time to act when her UFC career ends.
