San Francisco 49ers defensive lineman Arik Armstead had a sarcastic response to a report about him having surgery.
NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport reported on Friday that Armstead is recovering from minor foot surgery and that he should be fine for spring drills.
#49ers DL Arik Armstead is recovering from minor foot surgery, source said. The procedure was described as a minor cleanup and he should be fine for most, if not all, of the spring drills.

Based on the way that the news was shared, it was easy to figure that the surgery was recent. Not so though, according to Armstead. He responded to the report via Twitter, saying the surgery was four months ago and “old news.”

Armstead, who was a first round pick out of Oregon in 2015, has played just 14 games over the last two seasons due to injuries. He has six sacks in his career.
