49ers defensive coordinator Robert Saleh gets love after shutting down Rams
If you’re wondering which current NFL assistants might get some head coach consideration in the future, look no further than Robert Saleh.
Saleh earned plaudits after his San Francisco 49ers defense held the Los Angeles Rams to just seven points in a 20-7 road win on Sunday. All told, Saleh’s defense limited the Rams to 165 total yards (78 passing by Jared Goff), got four sacks, and kept the Rams from converting on third and fourth down the entire game.

This has been a theme with Saleh getting attention throughout the season. And why not? His energy is tremendous!
49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan recognized what a great job Saleh did and even had him speak with the media after the game. Saleh gave credit to his players for pressuring Jared Goff.

The 49ers’ defensive front has been key to their success this season. They have now held opponents to single digit scores in consecutive weeks.
Saleh, 40, played college ball at Northern Michigan University as a tight end. He has worked in the NFL since 2005 and has been Shanahan’s defensive coordinator since 2017.
