Adrian Peterson meets with Vikings owners in New York

Adrian Peterson

Adrian Peterson flew to New York on Monday to meet with Vikings owner Zygi and Mark Wilf to talk about his future with the team.

According to USA Today’s Tom Pelissero, the meeting was a continuation of what took place last week when Minnesota GM Rick Spielman and head coach Mike Zimmer flew to Houston to talk with the 2012 NFL MVP.

Peterson said after last week’s meeting that he appreciated the coach and GM meeting with him and that they had a “great dialogue,” but he still expressed “concerns” about the organization.

Peterson apparently feels as if the team did not completely support him when he was going through his child abuse case, during which time he was placed on the commissioner’s exempt list and missed the final 15 games of the season. He has expressed interest in playing for a new team, while the Vikings have maintained that they want him to return. Peterson’s father speculates that the rhetoric from the Vikings brass could be to keep his son’s trade value high in case of a deal.
