Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver AJ Brown backed down from his apparent message toward the organization following the team’s Week 4 win.

Brown told reporters on Wednesday that he let his frustrations boil over following his poor performance in Sunday’s 31-25 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He said his controversial post on X had nothing to do with anyone associated with the Eagles, and took accountability for the drama he caused.

“Obviously, Sunday after the game, I let my frustrations boil over,” Brown said. “I didn’t speak to the media. I had the chance to correct my frustrations and I continued to let them boil over. That’s on me, and I take full accountability for that.

“My message on Twitter wasn’t directed at anyone in the building. Not my coach, not my quarterback, the GM, nobody. That’s why I take full accountability. I have open communication with all my coaches and my quarterback as well.”

Brown has had a quiet start to the season, and his social media activity led people to believe he was fed up with his minor role in the team’s offense. He has just 14 catches for 151 yards and 1 touchdown on the season, and caught just two passes for seven yards against the Buccaneers.

This is also not the first time Brown has hinted as displeasure with how the team’s offense is playing, prompting concerns about discord in the locker room.

For now, Brown is trying to turn down the temperature on the situation. If he continues to put up mediocre numbers, however, one has to wonder if this drama will flare up again.
