New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara on Sunday appeared to take a subtle jab at his head coach Dennis Allen.
The Saints entered Week 9 with a golden opportunity to end their six-game losing streak against the bottom-feeding Carolina Panthers at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, N.C. But New Orleans fell short in a 23-22 loss that extended the team’s losing skid to seven games.
After Sunday’s contest, Kamara was asked about the confidence level in the Saints’ locker room. Kamara stated that his teammates do not lack confidence but added that confidence was waning in “something else,” which seemed like a coded dig toward the coaching staff.

“I feel like dudes is confident,” said Kamara. “I mean, there’s a lot of guys that have played a lot of football in here. You just talked about Tyrann [Mathieu], I think he’s a confident dude. I think Demario [Davis], Cam [Jordan], me, Derek [Carr], and even some of the younger dudes. Chris [Olave] and even [Mason] Tipton. We’ve got guys that are confident. Defensive, receiver. … I can keep going. We’ve got guys. I’m naming guys, you know. I think there’s confidence there. But there might not be confidence in something else, so.”

While Kamara did not name Allen or any member of the Saints’ coaching staff directly, some fans on X felt like the running back’s message was clear.
"But it might not be confidence in something else"
Dennis Allen has completely lost the locker room and this interview from locker room leader Alvin Kamara proves that. https://t.co/qFBg5dBVoZ

“Something else”…in other words – Coaching!

The Saints started the season with all the confidence in the world. But after going 2-0 through Week 2, New Orleans has crashed back down to earth and fallen into a hole that may already be too deep to get out of.
It doesn’t help that a former Saints star called out Carr during the game, claiming the QB was responsible for the scary injury suffered by wide receiver Chris Olave.
