With less than two weeks to go until the regular season, Andrew Luck still has not returned to practice. Time is running out for him to be ready to face the Los Angeles Rams in Week 1, and there is a growing concern that he could miss multiple games.
The Colts have been very secretive about Luck’s rehab from shoulder surgery. Team owner Jim Irsay stuck with that theme Wednesday when he would only tell reporters that Luck is “coming along well” and will “be back and have a very, very long and great career with us,” according to Zak Keefer of the Indianapolis Star.
When Irsay announced in January that Luck had undergone surgery, he made it seem as though Week 1 was never in doubt.

There have been some positive reports about Luck throwing passes, but the Colts have just four practices remaining until they kick off the season against the Rams. With the quarterback having played hurt for much of the last two years, Irsay made it clear Luck is not going to be rushed back.
“We’re not shying away from the fact we knew it was time for Andrew to have that shoulder procedure,” he said Wednesday. “But nothing has surprised us (with the recovery). He’s coming along well, like we expect him to.”
While Colts fans should be excited about the prospect of finally having a healthy Luck, the uncertain timeline is a bit unsettling. It seems all but certain that Luck will miss Week 1, but will that be it? At this point, there’s no guarantee of him not missing multiple games.
