Andy Dalton heckled by Bengals fans on way to locker room
Andy Dalton has played a lot of bad football since what many believed was a breakout season in 2015, and Cincinnati Bengals fans are clearly growing tired of it.
On Sunday, Dalton completed 16-of-31 passes for 170 yards, no touchdowns, and a whopping four interceptions. His poor play was one of the main reasons the Bengals were shut out 20-0 by the Baltimore Ravens. As he was heading to the locker room following the game, fans in Cincinnati hurled insults and objects at Dalton.
Here's why Andy Dalton runs off…
One fan: "You suck."
Another throws hat at Dalton.
Another fan yells: "I want Carson back." #Bengals pic.twitter.com/uAHDcNImMu— Jeremy Rauch (@FOX19Jeremy) September 10, 2017
The good news is Dalton responded by having his best season as a pro the last time he was booed in a public setting by his own fans. However, his 28.4 passer rating on Sunday has to have the Bengals feeling a little uneasy.
Dalton was outplayed by Joe Flacco, who missed most of the offseason because of a back injury. It’s way too early to draw conclusions about the season, but changes could finally be coming in Cincy if the Bengals continue to struggle.
