Andy Dalton booed during celebrity softball game in Cincinnati
Festivities leading up to Major League Baseball’s All-Star Game are underway in Cincinnati. Sunday’s events included the Futures Game followed by the All-Star Legends & Celebrity Softball Game. Among those participating in the softball game was Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton. Unfortunately, the welcome he received was not a warm one.
During introductions, and throughout the game, Dalton was showered with boos.

Dalton is a lightning rod in Cincinnati due to the lack of playoff success by him and the Bengals in recent years. The team hasn’t won a postseason game since 1991, despite advancing to the playoffs in five of the past six seasons. In four postseason games, Dalton has one touchdown pass and six interceptions. That said, the Bengals and Dalton agreed to a six-year contract worth $115 million in 2014, so it’s safe to say he isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.
It’s a shame Andy Dalton had to endure such treatment during a time meant for fun in a relaxed atmosphere. However, Cincinnati loves its Bengals and when they aren’t performing up to expectations someone is going to hear about it. On Sunday, it was the starting quarterback.
