Audio recording suggests Tyreek Hill was responsible for son’s injuries
A new audio recording suggests that Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Tyreek Hill was responsible for harming his child.
The recording, obtained by KCTV, is of Hill and fiancee Crystal Espinal. Its recording is attributed to Espinal, who gave it to a friend as an “insurance policy.”

In the recording, Espinal is heard saying their son said “daddy did it” regarding alleged child abuse, though Hill denies that he broke the child’s arm. It is suggested that Hill used a belt on the child. Hill can also be heard telling Espinal “you need to be terrified of me, too, b—-” in response to Espinal telling Hill that their son is terrified of him.

Crystal Espinal: "He started crying & you were like, 'Shut up, shut up, stop crying, stop crying.'"
Tyreek Hill: "Right."
Crystal Espinal: "He kept crying because he was scared. He's terrified. You grabbed onto him somehow or he fell? 1 of the 2."
Hill: "I didn't do nothing."

Crystal Espinal: "Then why does he say, 'Daddy did it.'? Why?"
Tyreek HIll: "He says Daddy does a lot of things."
Crystal Espinal: "A 3-year-old is not going to lie about what happened to his arm."

Crystal Espinal: "I rode for you against that detective & the CPS people. They said time & time again that he literally kept saying 'Daddy punches me.'
"Which you do when he starts crying. What do you do? You make him open up his arms & you punch him in the chest."

According to KCTV, the 11-minute recording has been turned over to the Johnson County District Attorney, which had been investigating the case. The audio can be heard here.

The audio went public a day after it was announced that Hill would not be charged in the alleged abuse of his child. While the district attorney felt a crime was committed, there was not enough evidence to charge Hill — or anyone else — with a crime. This audio may spark further investigation, and the NFL, capable of imposing its own discipline, will be taking it into account as well.
