With Tony Romo out with a broken clavicle, the Cowboys are trying to hold down the fort in his absence. Brandon Weeden started the last three games for Dallas, against the Falcons, Saints, and Patriots. However, it appears his run as interim starting quarterback is over.
Weeden has reportedly been informed Matt Cassel with be under center when the Cowboys face the Giants in Week 7. As expected when a player is benched, Weeden was not happy about the decision and didn’t hide his feelings on the matter.
Brandon Weeden not happy about the demotion saying "I'm pissed." Weeden said he will still be a pro in spite of the demotion. #Cowboys

After starting the season 2-0, Dallas has lost three in a row. In those games, the Cowboys have scored 28, 20, and 6 points. Despite completing 70 percent of his passes, Weeden has managed just one touchdown and two interceptions in his three starts.
Weeden has been with the Cowboys since last season so it’s understandable he received the first opportunity to fill in for Romo, given his familiarity with the offense. That said, the bye week gives Dallas the opportunity to get Cassel, who was acquired late last month, up to speed and ready to go for the team’s next game. He might better than Weeden. Or, he might not. However, it’s obvious the Cowboys have seen enough of Weeden to come to the conclusion they need to see what Cassel can do, even if it pisses Weeden off.
