Baker Mayfield has been compared to Johnny Manziel by many, but there’s another comparison that he may find a bit more flattering.
Adrian Peterson — himself an Oklahoma alum — told TMZ Sports that Mayfield reminds him of Brett Favre, and it was a comparison that Favre himself was willing to back up.
“I do. Makes a lot plays with his legs, moving around, buying time,” Favre said of the validity of the comparisons. “But mostly his enthusiasm and competitive spirit is what I see.”
Mayfield has spent the leadup to the draft trying to downplay comparisons to Manziel, whose off-field behavior derailed his NFL career. We’re guessing he’ll be happy to embrace the talk of Favre.
