Report: Browns tried to trade second-round pick for Nick Foles
The Philadelphia Eagles are not willing to part with Nick Foles easily.
NFL.com’s Mike Silver reported on Tuesday that the Cleveland Browns offered the Eagles the No. 35 pick in the draft for Foles but were turned down. Philly reportedly approached Foles about the offer, and he opted to remain in Philadelphia.
After being turned down on the Foles front, Cleveland went out and traded for Tyrod Taylor and then drafted Baker Mayfield with the No. 1 overall pick.
Foles, who stepped in for the injured Carson Wentz last season and helped the Eagles win the Super Bowl, re-worked his contract with the Eagles. He is set to make up to $14 million this season and will have the option to become a free agent afterwards.
