Rivera added that Newton is worn down, and will get regular days off, which is not a new thing for him.

Ron Rivera says Panthers will likely give Cam Newton a day a week to take fewer throws for his general well-being. Much like last season.

Issues with his throwing shoulder are not really new for Newton. This one doesn’t sound exceptionally serious, and he appears to still be on track to play Sunday.
