Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton seems to have avoided serious injury after taking a big hit against the Buffalo Bills.
Newton had to retreat to the medical tent in the third quarter of the game, but returned to the game with what the Panthers called an ankle injury. The issue was reportedly a twisted ankle, and Newton appears to have come through it alright.

Newton will have to see how the ankle responds within the next day or so, but it doesn’t appear to be something that will hinder him for an extended period of time. He certainly escaped with a less serious injury than the one teammate Greg Olsen suffered in the same game.
