The Denver Broncos remain in the AFC playoff hunt following their win over the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday, but their defense was dealt a major blow when Chris Harris Jr. had to leave the game with a broken bone in his leg. Fortunately, it sounds like the All-Pro cornerback should be able to return if his team can earn a postseason spot.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports that the Broncos have no plans to place Harris on injured reserve. As of now, the fractured fibula he suffered is expected to take around a month to heal.
Relatively good news for #Broncos CB Chris Harris: He did fracture his fibula Sunday, but sources say Injured Reserve is now not being considered. They plan to keep him on the roster and if all goes well, could return for the (gulp) playoffs. More hairline fracture than anything.

The Broncos are now 6-6 after winning their last three games, and their remaining schedule is not all that difficult. They have road games against the San Francisco 49ers and Oakland Raiders and home dates with the Cleveland Browns and Los Angeles Chargers. They may need to win all four, but that is not out of the realm of possibility. At the moment, it would appear Keenan Allen’s assessment of his division rival was not accurate.
Harris, a three-time Pro Bowler, has been one of the best defensive backs in football for several seasons. Winning games will be a lot more difficult for Denver with him on the sidelines.
