Video of Christian McCaffrey predicting play raises big concern for Eagles
The Philadelphia Eagles have lost three straight games in large part because of their struggles on offense, and many feel they have become too predictable during that stretch. Christian McCaffrey magnified those concerns on Monday night.
McCaffrey was a guest on “ManningCast” for the “Monday Night Football” game between the Eagles and Seattle Seahawks. When the Eagles lined up to run a play at the Seattle 20 early in the second quarter, McCaffrey knew almost exactly what Philly was going to do. The San Francisco 49ers star confidently said Jalen Hurts was about to run a quarterback draw with the tight end pulling to block.
Only one detail was slightly off.
How predictable is this Eagles offense?

McCaffrey thought Hurts was going to run a draw to the left, but Hurts went right. The Seahawks seemed to have the play well-read and stuffed Hurts for a short gain.
Those who have watched Tony Romo call games for CBS know that it is not uncommon for people with a high football IQ to accurately predict a play. Both the offense and defense still have to execute, which we see all the time when defenses know the “tush push” is coming and still can’t stop it.
The concern for the Eagles is that their offense has seemed a bit stale in recent weeks. If McCaffrey knew what was coming, those who are game-planning against Philadelphia probably do, too. It is possible that has been a factor in them averaging just 16.3 points over the past three games.
