Colin Cowherd fires back after Indians’ Baker Mayfield trolling
If the Cleveland Indians were trolling for a reaction when they went after Fox Sports radio host Colin Cowherd, they certainly got it.
On Saturday, the Indians’ Twitter account tweeted a video of Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield shotgunning a beer at their game, adding a mocking quote attributed to Cowherd referencing his frequent criticisms of Mayfield.
"I just don’t like the idea of my franchise quarterback spending time at a baseball game. I mean, what are you doing, @bakermayfield? You don’t see guys like Aaron Rodgers shotgunning beers. Just not a good look. Go watch some film." – @ColinCowherd (probably)

Naturally, Cowherd wasn’t going to let this one go, and responded extensively on Monday’s edition of his show. In a nearly five-minute monologue, he compared the Browns to a frat house during rush week, when “nobody’s flunked out yet.” He added that he understood why the city of Cleveland loves Mayfield and why it’s all exciting, but took shots at the city and the Browns, noting that while the Browns’ “frat” is the cool place to be now, it’s not where he’d want to be during “finals week” in January. He also repeatedly pointed out Mayfield’s 1-5 record against winning teams.
The whole thing must be seen to be believed.
“Baker looked like he was a little too good at that beer chugging. A little too good for my franchise QB… Cleveland and Baker are the coolest frat on campus.” — @ColinCowherd pic.twitter.com/QRPTfhoYwN

Somewhat amusingly, some of Cowherd’s criticisms sound a lot like the ones that the Indians jokingly attributed to him on Twitter. Perhaps that was partially the point.
Mayfield and Cowherd have had a significant feud going ever since Mayfield was in college, and it has only escalated since Mayfield was drafted first overall by Cleveland. Thus, Cowherd’s latest monologue is unlikely to go unnoticed, and neither side will be backing down now that the Indians’ Twitter account stirred things back up.
