The Dallas Cowboys basically invited the jokes on Monday during Mike McCarthy’s weekly press conference.
McCarthy spoke with reporters as usual on Monday, one day after his team’s ugly 34-6 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. One of the talking points that emerged from the performance was the organization’s refusal to use curtains to block out heavy sunlight that seemed to negatively impact Dallas players during their home game.
McCarthy would have had the sun shining in on him during his press conference, if not for the fact that the Cowboys set up a shield to block it. The jokes largely wrote themselves.
The sun is causing a glare in the Cowboys press conference room.
So there’s a shield to block the sun from Mike McCarthy’s face.

Obviously, the Cowboys have much bigger issues than just a sun problem at AT&T Stadium. They are 3-6, after all. Still, this issue has seemingly become representative in the eyes of many over Jerry Jones prioritizing aesthetics over winning football. Jones’ fiery response to questions about the issue is only going to make the critics double down.
The Cowboys have another home game in Week 11, but it’s a Monday night contest, so the sun will not be an issue. At least they’ll get a reprieve from that, because everything else is a mess at the moment.
