Darren McFadden reportedly broke elbow trying to catch iPhone
Earlier in the day, we relayed the news Darren McFadden would be out approximately two months after suffering a broken elbow from what was classified as an “accident” at his home over Memorial Day weekend. More details have emerged regarding the nature of the accident.
McFadden underwent surgery Tuesday morning to repair the elbow Cowboys running backs coach Gary Brown says was injured when McFadden attempted to keep his iPhone from hitting the ground.

Brown also joked had McFadden sacrificed the phone he shouldn’t have a problem replacing it while Jason Witten said he gave McFadden a bit of a hard time after seeing his elbow swollen.
Gary Brown asked if McFadden should have dropped the phone instead, "He's got that pre-CBA money, so I don't think he needs the phone."

McFadden, who was known for often being injured early in his career with the Raiders, has played in all 16 regular season games each of the past two years. Last season, his first with the Cowboys, McFadden rushed for over 1,000 yards (1,089) for the first time since 2010 on a career-high 239 carries.
With the Cowboys selecting Ezekiel Elliott fourth overall in April’s NFL Draft, McFadden’s role is expected to be reduced in 2016. Fortunately, there’s hope McFadden will be able to participate in the season opener in whatever capacity Dallas has planned for him.
