Davante Adams has telling response to rumored drama with Antonio Pierce
The Davante Adams trade rumors are once again heating up, and the star wide receiver is not exactly throwing cold water on them.
Adams suffered a hamstring injury in practice last week and sat out the Las Vegas Raiders’ game against the Cleveland Browns on Sunday. Later that day, NBC’s Mike Florio said on “Football Night in America” that Adams could be traded ahead of the Nov. 4 deadline.
Things got even more interesting when Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce “liked” an Instagram post that quoted Michael Fabiano of Sports Illustrated as saying he would not be surprised if Adams has already played his last snap for Las Vegas.

Adams was asked about Pierce’s social media activity during an appearance on “Up & Adams” with Kay Adams on Monday morning. The Pro Bowl receiver had a noteworthy response.
“I haven’t heard from him. I haven’t talked to him,” Adams said. “I don’t really know exactly what that was about. Obviously social media’s a beast, so there’s a lot of people out there that saw it and were wondering what was going on and people reaching out … yeah, I haven’t spoke to him.”
Adams added that there has been “no communication with anybody from the team since that became a thing.”

Pierce will probably claim his account was either hacked or his “like” was unintentional. But the fact that he had not yet communicated that to Adams as of Tuesday morning might say a lot about the current state of the relationship between the two.
Adams has caught 18 passes for 209 yards and a touchdown this season. He has been frustrated at times with the Raiders’ quarterback situation since Derek Carr left, so a trade would not be a surprise. If Las Vegas were to trade Adams, one team has been linked to the receiver.
