David Njoku has spectacular quote about Browns’ Hail Mary scare
The Cleveland Browns had to endure a terrifying few seconds on Sunday as the Chicago Bears came perilously close to pulling off a miraculous last-second Hail Mary. Browns tight end David Njoku summed up the moment with a perfect quote.
Leading by three with time about to expire, the Browns very nearly gave up a walk-off Hail Mary touchdown, but Bears wide receiver Darnell Mooney could not haul the pass in (video here). Njoku, speaking to reporters after the game, summed up those terrifying few seconds perfectly.
“I damn near s–t myself, dog,” Njoku said, via Zac Jackson of The Athletic.
Njoku is probably speaking for every Browns fan here. Ultimately, the breaks went their way, and they escaped with a win.
Despite a slew of injuries, including to starting quarterback Deshaun Watson, the Browns are 9-5 and well-positioned to make the playoffs. It has been a heck of a coaching job by Kevin Stefanski, along with a few breaks going their way, like this one.
