Deandre Baker has issued his first public statement since his arrest for armed robbery and aggravated assault.
Baker issued a statement through attorney Patrick G. Patel apologizing to the Giants and the rest of the NFL for the “distractions” his case has produced.
“We sincerely thank all law enforcement for their diligent efforts to uncover the truth herein and sincerely apologize for the distractions that this event has caused to Deandre’s team, teammates and the NFL community during this difficult time in everyone’s life,” the statement said, via Michael David Smith of ProFootballTalk.
Baker has been arrested and released over the charges stemming from an incident in south Florida. The Giants have told him to stay away from their virtual team meetings for the time being.
