Deshaun Watson: Browns’ Hue Jackson said to ‘be ready’ on draft day
The Cleveland Browns may have their regrets about passing on quarterback Deshaun Watson, but they certainly considered taking him in April’s NFL Draft.
Watson told CBS that Browns coach Hue Jackson had told him to “be ready” on draft day — only for Cleveland to trade down from No. 12 overall, swapping picks with Houston, who ultimately pulled the trigger.

The Browns have discussed how “difficult” it was to pass on Watson, and it’s a decision that looks worse and worse as times goes on. Watson looks like a future star in Houston, while Cleveland’s own rookie quarterback, DeShone Kizer, has already been benched.
