Dolphins preventing Laremy Tunsil from talking trade with reporters?

Laremy Tunsil

The Miami Dolphins are widely considered to be the most likely suitor if the Houston Texans trade Jadeveon Clowney, and Laremy Tunsil could be included in the deal. Reporters have attempted to get an idea of how Tunsil feels about his name being thrown around in trade talks, but it seems like the offensive lineman is under strict orders to keep quiet.

Following Thursday’s preseason game against the New Orleans Saints, Tunsil indicated that he would like to talk about the trade rumors but is not allowed to.

Tunsil is considered one of the best young offensive tackles in the NFL, and the Dolphins would likely only move him if they were blown away with an offer. According to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald, the Texans have offered Clowney plus a first-round pick, but Miami wants Clowney and multiple high draft picks.

When asked about potentially trading Tunsil, Dolphins head coach Brian Flores only said Thursday that “there’s no trade in place for him.”

Several teams are interested in acquiring Clowney, who has 18.5 sacks over the past two seasons. However, the former No. 1 overall pick has not signed his franchise tender and cannot be traded until he does, so he essentially has a no-trade clause at the moment. The Dolphins appear to have the most interest in him, but Clowney reportedly has his sights set on two other teams.
