There are several teams that are in need of immediate help at the quarterback position this offseason, and that could lead to certain players being taken a lot higher than initially expected in the NFL Draft later this month. Will Dwayne Haskins be one of those players?
Many mock drafts have Haskins going as high as No. 6 to the New York Giants, but one reporter believes the former Ohio State star’s rising stock has been overstated. NFL.com draft analyst Lance Zierlein is predicting that Haskins will tumble down the board on Day 1.
After speaking with a few different teams, I definitely get the feeling that Dwayne Haskins draft stock was more media created than team driven. I see Haskins falling on draft day and I think the chances are increasing that he is not the second QB off the board.

A lot of analysts have predicted Haskins will be the second quarterback drafted, which would probably mean he goes to the Giants at sixth overall or the Denver Broncos at No. 10. However, there will likely be trades on draft day that impact those projections. The Broncos recently acquired Joe Flacco in a trade, so they may decide to address other needs.
While Kyler Murray is widely considered the consensus best QB in the draft, there’s a lot of variation in how people view Haskins, Missouri’s Drew Lock and Duke’s Daniel Jones. One of those quarterbacks may actually interest the Giants more than Haskins, which could result in Haskins having to wait a while to hear his name called.
