Watch: Emmanuel Sanders has made impressive recovery from torn Achilles

Emmanuel Sanders suffered one of the toughest injuries in sports roughly seven months ago, and the Denver Broncos wide receiver appears to have had a very speedy recovery.

The Broncos opened training camp on Wednesday, and president of football operations John Elway told reporters this week that Sanders would be “worked in slowly.” That’s a smart approach to take, but NFL Network’s James Palmer expects Sanders to have no limitations within a few weeks. Check out this video of the 32-year-old going through some agility drills at Thursday’s practice:

Again, this is a 32-year-old player who is just seven months removed from tearing his Achilles. Some guys take close to a full year to recover from that type of injury, and it is especially difficult for a receiver who needs to be explosive and make sharp cuts.

Sanders caught 71 passes for 868 yards and four touchdowns in 12 games last season, and he is still expected to be a huge part of Denver’s offense with Joe Flacco under center. There was some talk earlier in the offseason about the Broncos potentially asking him to take a pay cut from the $10.25 million he is scheduled to make in 2019, but you can see why they didn’t do that. Sanders appears to be ahead of schedule.
