ESPN is reportedly in discussions to add another notable reporter and TV personality to its NFL crew.
Peter Schrager is in “serious talks” to sign a deal with ESPN, Michael McCarthy and Ryan Glasspiegel of Front Office Sports reported on Friday.
Schrager currently works for FOX and NFL Network. He hosts the latter’s daily “Good Morning Football” show. The 42-year-old has also been part of FOX’s NFL pregame show every Sunday during the season. Schrager has seen his role at FOX grow in recent years and delivers scoops for the network along with longtime reporter Jay Glazer.

The plan for Schrager at ESPN would be for him to contribute across ESPN’s daily studio shows, according to FOS. Schrager would likely make regular appearances on “NFL Live” and “First Take” in addition to the “Get Up” morning show.
Schrager also hosts an NFL podcast called “The Season with Peter Schrager,” but it is unclear if he would continue with that.
If Schrager and ESPN are able to work out a deal in time, the reporter could contribute to ESPN’s coverage of the NFL Draft next month.
ESPN will broadcast its first ever Super Bowl in 2027 and again in 2031. The network has made some significant hires in recent years to prepare for that, and Schrager could become the latest.
ESPN and NFL Network have been in negotiations since last year about a potential deal that would see ESPN take control of the league-owned network.
Schrager is known by many for nailing five straight Super Bowl predictions, though his streak finally came to an end this year.
