NFL kickers and punters are not known for their tackling ability, but Matt Bosher appears intent on changing that.
The Atlanta Falcons’ punter absolutely flattened Carolina return man Kenjon Barner in the second quarter of Sunday’s game in a decidedly un-kicker-like tackle.

The best part is Bosher peering over his victim and even getting in perhaps a word or two after pulling off the tackle. That’s a guy who’s clearly feeling it after a hit like that.
It’s extremely rare to see any kicker or punter take anyone out like that. Occasionally we’ll see it at the college level, but normally if a return gets as far as the man who kicked it, it’s all desperation shoestring tackles or missed opportunities. Not so here.
Amazingly, Bosher has a history of this. We probably shouldn’t be so surprised.
