The Seattle Seahawks may have fallen short of the playoffs, but Geno Smith was still the big winner in Week 18 — at least financially.

Smith went 20/27 for 223 yards with 4 touchdown passes in Seattle’s 30-25 win over the Los Angeles Rams at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Calif., on Sunday. The big game for Smith helped him achieve several incentive clauses in his contract.

Smith’s 223 passing yards gave him 4,320 passing yards for the season. His 74 percent completion rate on Sunday helped keep his completion percentage for the season over 70 percent. And the win gave Seattle its 10th of the year.

Based on his contract, Smith receives a $2 million roster bonus escalator for each of those marks. He receives a $2 million bonus for surpassing 4,282 passing yards, having higher than a 69.755 completion percentage, and for leading the Seahawks to 10 wins or a playoff berth.

Smith was due a $10 roster bonus on March 16. Thanks to him hitting three of his $2 million incentives, he will now receive $16 million on March 16 so long as he’s on Seattle’s roster.

As if the $6 million extra wasn’t enough, Smith also broke Seattle’s franchise record for passing yards in a season. He surpassed his previous mark of 4,282 from 2022.
